THIS BEAT IS SICK! Two of my favorite names in the music business have teamed up for an amazing track. Major Lazer's new EP called "Apocalypse Now" is going to be released on February 25th and "Aerosol Can", a collaboration with the biggest artist right now Pharrell Williams, serves as the first single.

This song reminds us of Pharrell rapping skills which a lot of people don't know about since probably they have come to know about his with "Blurred Lines" and "Get Lucky". Over a drum driven beat by Diplo and Co. He raps "All ya'll niggas want to get like me. All ya'll niggas want to spit like P. Missing ass niggas want a hit like me. Meanwhile, your baby want to kiss my D" referencing to his success besides big booties, weed and being bigger than Mushroom in Mario Kart.

The song is amazing, it came out last week and I haven't stopped listening to it. It's perfect to set the mood for a great day/week and that's why i decided to include on it on this #MusicMonday post. I can totally see it being a hit, although it isn't as mainstream as those 2 big hits of 2013 in which Pharrell's falsetto voice was a big part of, but people can listen to it in every single mood possible and it will make you want to move your feet and have a good time.

MOTEL - Siempre Tú

Desde que descubrí esta banda mexicana en 2006 con su primer album "Motel", su música ha estado constantemente en mi iPod y aunque no escucho mucha música en español, varias de sus canciones son mis favoritas.

En Septiembre del año pasado sacaron al mercado su album mas reciente titulado "Prisma" y su sonido ha cambiado muchísimo desde la primera vez que los escuché cuando eran mas pop/rock. Ahora siguen siendo pop pero mezclado con un poco mas de ska y electronica que me recuerda a dos de mis bandas favoritas: Maroon 5 y The XX.

"Siempre Tú" me recuerda mucho al intro del album "XX" de la banda británica y eso fue lo que me llamó la atención. Su producción es excelente y no suena a algo que necesariamente se produzca en Latinoamérica donde los sonidos son un poco mas genéricos y toda la música del mismo genero suena muy similar. esta es una canción que desde que la escuche por primera vez se me quedó pegada en la cabeza y me ha servido para cualquier tipo de mood: un Domingo de pereza, en el carro mientras manejo, mientras escribo, un lunes que no esta yendo muy bien, al final del día antes de dormir, etc. 

Motel esta conformada por Rodrigo Dávila y Billy Mendez y actualmente se encuentran promocionando su album "Prima". Casualmente mientras escribía este post me he enterado que "Siempre Tu" será el tercer sencillo promocional del album siguiendo los pasos de "Esferas" y su colaboración con Belinda y Milkman "Sueño de Ti".
