News: Shakira's New Single 'Empire' by Willy + 'Shakira' Track list.

Shakira’s second season on The Voice starts today and her new single also made its way onto iTunes!! “Empire” it is scheduled to be released to radios across the US tomorrow Tuesday February 25^th.

With the first listen of the second single of her self-titled 10^th studio album, "Empire", I was hooked. It reminds me of "The One" from Laundry Service and it is one of my favorite songs from her. It’s been a very long time since Shakira has sounded like this, it sounds organic instead of what we've heard from her before where it seems like she was trying too hard. This is the Shakira we all know and love and this sound actually works for her. Some people might be surprised she is not all about shaking her hips all the time and that she is actually a really good artist.

Seems like her new label, RCA Records, is making her try new things for the direction of “Shakira” because we all know she is a perfectionist and it means a lot that this time around she is singing songs not written by her like “Empire”, which was written by Steve Mac (The Wanted’s “All Time Low” and “Glad You Came”) and Ina Wroldsen (Britney Spears’s “He About To Lose Me” and Shotelle’s “Impossible”).

“You are my wildfire every single night, we are alive and the stars make love to the universe, and you touch me and im like, and im like, and im like oooh oooh oooh” read some of the lyrics of this love song that I'm sure if promoted right, could take the Barranquillera very far. This new era sounds very promising to me and I'm sure Shaki would not disappoint. a duet with Maroon 5's and fellow The Voice coach Adam Levine in the new future perhaps?

I am so happy Dare (La La La) made it to the final cut!

A video for this song, which was supposed to be the first single of her new album, was shot in Portugal back in 2012 before her pregnancy (watch here). Also it seems like this song is going to be used in the soundtrack of the 2014 FIFA WORLD CUP in Brazil !!
